Dear Blooms to Brews athletes and supporters,
We are extremely saddened to announce that we must cancel the 2020 Blooms to Brews event for circumstances beyond our control. We opened registration on good faith that we had the approval we needed to proceed with the 2020 event. Unfortunately, it has become clear that it will not be possible to host an event that will be a viable and safe event for our athletes.
Our team of friends and family have poured our heart and souls into this event. We started with the intention to get people healthy and fit and highlight the beautiful community of Woodland. When we lost our permit to host the event within the city limits of Woodland, we worked extremely hard to come up with a win:win solution to be able to continue this event in the community. We aren’t quitters and hate feeling like we failed our athletes. We are so disappointed that the obstacles have just become too challenging.
This weekend it became clear that we needed to cancel the event so we immediately started brainstorming solutions for our athletes. We currently have hundreds of athletes who have already registered and we never want the people who have believed in us over the years to have to suffer.
We called our friends at WHY Racing events and here is what we have arranged that we hope you will agree is a very generous and win:win solution for all.
We hope that being able to register for any of their 12 events will provide you ultimate flexibility and convenience to offset the registration for Blooms to Brews. As many of you know, we have already used funds for marketing and promotion so refunds are not possible. This arrangement with Why Racing Events enables us to provide you the value in return for your registration and belief in us.
We profusely apologize for putting our athletes in this situation. We would have never opened registration if we had thought we would have had to cancel the event.
We will continue to run and race in the community as so many of you are our friends for life.
